Some info about blood:
- To save the lives of patients and the injured, about 1,000 blood donations are needed per day in Israel.
- Blood units cannot be stored for long periods, so the supply must be replenished regularly to maintain an amount that does not fall below consumption rates.
- Human blood has no substitute, and when a blood unit is needed for a person, its source can only be from a donation given by a donor.
