Making the Temporary Residence Accessible for Internally Displaced People With Disabilities
A new program is helping to make the temporary residence accessible for internally displaced people with disabilities by facilitating the modification of devices and accessibility of the temporary housing, to enable greater independence and security.
Who is eligible for assistance
The program is designed for internally displaced persons eligible for services from the Disabilities Administration in the Ministry of Welfare and Social Services or the Unit of Rehabilitation and Mobility Devices in the Ministry of Health.
The assistance includes:
- Personalized modification of devices that do not require installation or structural changes.
- Professional assistance and supervision in borrowing, purchase and use in the following areas: bathing and self-care, sleep, independence at home, security and safety and management of a daily schedule. The service is provided remotely through digital means.

Who operates the program
The program is managed by Joint Israel Unlimited (Hebrew) in cooperation with the Ministry of Welfare and Social Services, the Ministry of Health and the National Insurance Institute – and is operated by Beit Issie Shapiro and Atvisor.
